My Approach
Built by operators. Brought in when execution matters.
Aduvo exists because most advisory doesn’t work the way founders need it to.
Strategy decks don’t close deals. Frameworks don’t fix broken leadership teams. And advice from people who have never actually built anything rarely lands when the pressure is on.
This is not traditional advisory. I work alongside leadership teams to drive outcomes — whether that is scaling, executing an acquisition, or preparing for exit.
Most businesses do not struggle because of strategy — they struggle to deliver. I focus on closing that gap.
I am typically brought in at moments where outcomes matter — where growth, transactions, or leadership decisions carry real consequence.
Founded By
Chris Burke
I started Brickendon in 2010 with an advance on my mortgage, a laptop, and no clients. No funding, no investors — just execution. I grew it from there into a global consultancy of over 300 professionals, generating over $250m in total revenue along the way.
I made the mistakes most founders make. I hired too quickly, expanded into the wrong markets, held on to the wrong people for too long. I also learned how to structure a business for scale, how to position for acquisition, and what separates businesses that become genuinely valuable from those that plateau.
HybridHero came next in 2018, a workplace technology platform now operating in over 40 countries – built with the same principles: execution first, commercial discipline always.
I acquired Aduvo in 2016 to do something I couldn’t find elsewhere: advisory for scaling and founder-led businesses that is genuinely grounded in operator experience. Not a firm that has studied deals — one that has lived them.
That’s what I bring to every engagement.
Background
Core Belief
Scaling businesses requires more than ambition
Most businesses that struggle to scale are not short of ambition. They are short of clarity, structure, and the discipline to execute consistently — especially as complexity grows.
The founder who built the business to £5m is rarely the same leader the business needs to reach £25m. The team that worked brilliantly at 30 people often breaks at 80. The strategy that made sense at one stage stops working at the next.
I’ve lived those transitions. I work with founders and leadership teams to navigate them — building the clarity, operating discipline and commercial focus that turns ambition into something scalable, investable and valuable.
“I didn’t build Aduvo to advise from a distance. I built it because I couldn’t find the kind of support I needed when I was scaling myself.”
